Healing Ginger & Turmeric Teas

images-1 Creamy Ayurvedic Spiced Tea Latée

The health benefits of ginger & turmeric are endless: natural anti-inflammatory, purifies blood, helps to prevent & cure cancer (& reduces side effects of chemo), high in antioxidants, boosts immunity, natural skin tonic, relieves allergy symptoms such as congestion, soar throat, cough, & headaches, cleanses the body, alleviate migraines, supports the digestive system: assists with nausea, stomach aches, diarrhea, gas/bloating, indigestion, & acid reflux, and so much more.

I prepare one of these recipes every day and absolutely love it. Add an optional “steam & tizzle” by placing your face over the steam and breathing it in for a few minutes ~ great for the skin, immunity, and sinuses. Enjoy!

Creamy Ayurvedic Spiced Latté ~ amazing for the holiday season!!!

1-2″ bulb of fresh organic ginger, peeled & chopped

1-2″ bulb of fresh organic turmeric, peeled & chopped

2 organic dates, pitted (add more for sweeter tea)

1 cup of organic, unsweetened almond milk

1/2 teaspoon of organic cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon of organic nutmeg

Sprinkle of Himalayan crystal salt & organic black pepper (optional)

Boil ginger and turmeric root in a medium size pot of purified water for 15-20 minutes until it’s a golden brown. Add an optional “steam & tizzle.” Add milk and dates and let stew for at least 5 minutes. Strain ginger & turmeric (feel free to save it for another recipe, such as a smoothie or soup) and set aside the dates. Poor all liquid into a blender and add stewed dates, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, & pepper. Blend until dates are fully liquified and turn up speed blender for 10 seconds to get froth. Poor in a tea cup and sprinkle some extra cinnamon on top.

Additional inspirations: for a spicier kick & extra immunity boost, add 5-7 organic cloves when steeping dates and discard them after straining. If you’re in the mood for chocolate, add a tablespoon (or more!) of organic raw cocoa before blending. I also love adding fresh vanilla bean.
